The Libertarian Party of Indiana has nominated Lauri Shillings to head its ballot this year as its candidate for secretary of state.

Election Offices Must Remain Neutral

Voter registration should be run by neutral institutions, not political advocacy groups. The appearance of the Secretary of State partnering with organizations aligned with one political ideology risks undermining trust in our elections.

Today, the voices of Hoosier voters prevailed over big government interference from D.C. I am incredibly proud of the 31 Indiana State Senators who rejected Trump’s plea to gerrymander our state’s congressional districts.

The truth is simple: mail-in voting is secure, limited, and essential for free and fair elections in Indiana. Taking it away creates new barriers for the very people who deserve our support the most — seniors who built our communities, and military families sacrificing for our freedom.

I am adamantly opposed to this gerrymandering attempt a mere four years after redistricting in 2021.

Indiana ranked 50th out of 51 in voter turnout as of the last 2022 midterm election, and 40th in the nation during the presidential election of 2024. These suppression tactics are an unnecessary barrier for Hoosier voters that are already reluctant to turn up at the polls.
